Our Process
A clear, straightforward process that takes you from first enquiry to fully certified, compliant fire doors.
We visit your property to assess your fire doors, the environment they sit in and exactly what your building needs.
Every door is checked against the required standard, then written up in a clear report with photos and plain guidance.
Our fitters carry out the installation or repairs, bringing each door up to a fully compliant standard.
Once the work is signed off, we provide the certification and documentation you need to prove compliance.
For most commercial premises there is no single fixed legal interval. The right frequency is set by your building's fire risk assessment. As a general guide, industry best practice is a formal inspection by a specialist at least every six months, with more frequent checks for high traffic doors, alongside regular visual checks by your own staff.
Legal responsibility sits with the Responsible Person for the building, usually the owner, employer, landlord or managing agent. In practice that means making sure fire doors are correctly specified, installed, inspected and maintained. Many duty holders appoint a competent contractor to carry out the technical work, but the legal duty to keep the building safe stays with them.
Certification is third party proof that a fire door has been tested to meet a required fire resistance rating, such as FD30 or FD60. A certified door set is supplied as a complete, tested assembly that includes the leaf, frame, intumescent seals and compatible hardware. The certification confirms the door will perform as intended, and it gives you the documentation needed to demonstrate compliance.
We do both. We supply and fit new certified fire door sets, and we also inspect, maintain and repair existing doors to bring them back up to standard. Where an existing door can be safely remediated, that is often the quicker and more cost effective route. Where it cannot, we will tell you honestly and recommend a certified replacement.
We cover a wide service area and regularly travel across the region for commercial projects. If you are unsure whether your site falls within our coverage, get in touch with the postcode and we will confirm straight away and arrange a visit.
